91探花 Day at the fair scheduled for Aug. 2

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host 91探花 Day at the Tanana Valley State Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

91探花 employees, students, alumni and friends will receive $1 off admission by wearing 91探花 apparel or showing their PolarExpress card. The day will include 91探花 activities throughout the fairgrounds.

The University Fire Department ladder truck and giant inflatable Nanook will be set up in Totem Square from noon to 7 p.m. Nook, 91探花鈥檚 mascot, will make appearances throughout the day. The bookstore will be on site selling 91探花 merchandise.

Inside the Borealis Pavilion, 91探花 will have several special exhibits and activities:

  •     See this year鈥檚 award-winning steel bridge.
  •     Engineer and build spaghetti bridges.
  •     Learn about unmanned aircraft.
  •     Prepare for a wildfire near your home in virtual reality.
  •     Try out mountaineering and packrafting gear.

In addition to these special activities, 91探花 also will have several booths at the Borealis Pavilion throughout the fair. Visitors can learn about applying to 91探花, try on a career with the 91探花 Community and Technical College, learn about 3D printing and find more than 125 free 91探花 Cooperative Extension Service publications covering gardening, energy, food preparation and more.

Cooperative Extension will host several 4-H activities on 91探花 Day, such as a horse show, rabbit and cavy showmanship event, poultry showmanship event, and market poultry and rabbit show.
